Cat O’ 9 Tails’ (also spelled Cat-O'-9-Tails and Cat o' 9 tails) is a blue cat enemy with many tails, encountered in Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest. Its name is derived from the whip called "cat o' nine tails," even though Cat O' 9 Tails only has seven tails. If it gets ahold of a Kong, it will spin into them and then whip them into the air with its tails. The Kongs must avoid this attack and wait for a Cat-O-9-Tails to collapse from dizziness, for it will then become vulnerable to being jumped or rolled on. Barrels, on the other hand, will take out the Cat-O-9-Tails whether it is spinning or not.
